In the demolition business, every jobsite brings unexpected challenges that may require us to adjust our approach. However, we strive to develop estimates that are as accurate as possible. The process of developing an estimate is as follows:

1. The client speaks with our experienced project estimator to discuss the scope of the project. Expect to answer basic questions about the project, such as the structure’s square footage, the types of construction materials used, and the presence of hazardous materials such as asbestos.
2. The client will be asked to share any as-built, architectural renderings or drawings, and demolition plan sheets if they have those items available. If those items aren’t available, the estimator will ask the client what he or she envisions the site or building to look like.
3. The estimator visits the site in person to meet the client and discuss the project further. The estimator does a thorough walk-through to assess the scope of the project, the labor costs involved, and the types of equipment needed.
4. The estimator puts together a comprehensive estimate that includes all anticipated costs and establishes the parameters for completing the project. The client will then receive the estimate and have the opportunity to ask questions of the estimator.
5. If the client decides to move forward with the project, RCD Demolition will begin the process of acquiring the necessary permits. In the Tucson, Arizona area, we typically acquire a City of Tucson demolition permit as well as, if required, an Asbestos National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) permit through the Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ).
